JOHANNESBURG – The price of petrol is expected to increase from Wednesday, while diesel will cost 21 cents less.
The Energy Department says both grades of petrol will increase by 1 cent a litre.
Paraffin users will get a 26 cents per litre relief.
Despite stronger oil prices and a weaker rand exchange rate in August, international prices of all refined petroleum products decreased.
Also factored in is a 5 cents a litre increase in the retail margin of petrol, to accommodate pay increases for petrol station staff.
